Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a
Mechanical (MEP) Designer with approx. 3 years of hands-on MEP experience to join a respected consulting engineering firm that supports mission-critical projects across
DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. This is a
hybrid position that offers flexible hours (core working hours: 9 AM-3 PM),
paid overtime , and the opportunity to

Responsibilities for the Mechanical (MEP) Designer Include: - Assist in the design and layout of electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Prepare and revise technical drawings and specifications using design software
- Perform basic load calculations and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-discipline teams to support coordinated MEP designs
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to project documentation and submittals
Qualifications for the Mechanical (MEP) Designer Include: - BSME (Bach in Mechanical Engineering) or BSAE (Bach in Aerospace) is required
- minimum 3 years of MEP experience in a consulting or architectural environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passed the FE - fundamentals of engineering exam (preferred)
- Familiarity with engineering design programs, such as Revit MEP or AutoCAD...etc... (preferred)
- EIT (aka Engineer-In Training certification) is not required but is a big bonus!
Compensation for the Mechanical (MEP) Designer Includes: - Salary range: approx. $75,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
