Akkodis is partnering with a defense technology company with a focus is on transforming defense capabilities by leveraging cutting-edge technology and assisting in their search for a contract Mechanical Design Engineer. At this point its expected to be a 6 month contract with the possibility to extend and/or convert. This role will require your presence on site in west Atlanta.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of professional experience
• B.S. Degree Engineering - Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace; Biomedical degrees will be considered
• GD&T experience
• Core focused will be Design, Build and Analysis
• Design is most important - 75% design vs. 25% build; currently SolidWorks , switching to NX - capabilities in both are ideal
• Analysis : Analytical background will be important
• Build : Should be comfortable being hands on in a shop, building something
• Assemblies, teardowns, not ONLY being behind a computer
• More hand analysis type work / basic modeling skills
• Familiarity with basic shop tools

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in NX would be very valuable
