Position Overview
The Juvenile Justice Intervention Center (JJIC), operated by the City of New Orleans, is a secure detention facility for youth awaiting court proceedings or placement. JJIC provides trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate medical and behavioral health care to residents, many of whom present with complex needs. We are seeking dedicated healthcare and behavioral health professionals to join our on-site team, delivering high-quality care 24|7 in compliance with state, federal, and juvenile justice standards.

Qualifications
~ Education:
~ Psychologist: PhD|PsyD
~ Psychiatrist: MD|DO
~ Psychiatric NP: Masters + PMHNP certification
~ Licensure: Active Louisiana license in respective specialty
~ Experience: Adolescent mental health in detention or high-risk settings
~ Technical Skills: Skilled in evidence-based treatment approaches
~ Soft Skills: Crisis de-escalation, interdisciplinary collaboration, cultural sensitivity

Key Responsibilities
~ Conduct mental health assessments and risk evaluations
~ Manage psychotropic medication regimens
~ Provide crisis intervention and suicide risk assessments
~ Collaborate with medical staff, LCSWs, and school personnel
