All Saints Academy is seeking an energetic, faith-filled assistant child care/early childhood director. This position is a full-time, year round position. Hours of employment will be Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. with flexibility when needed. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and educational qualifications. Responsibilities Oversees and leads the operations of the school age child care program (before and after school care; non-school day care, summer care, snow day care) Practices positive, consistent discipline in the after school care setting and contacts parents when necessary Direct supervision and interaction with toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children Direct student support for students Collaborating and supporting the child care director Provides support with administrative duties Demonstrates knowledge of school policies and procedures Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment for all students and staff members Remains current on educational trainings and qualifications Works with a team of educators. Acts as a witness to the Gospel values Demonstrates professional work habits by regular attendance, honoring schedules, organizing work, and conducting assigned tasks in an effective and efficient manner Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese Performs other duties as assigned or needed Application Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education with specialization in preschool teaching OR a bachelor’s degree in education with a ZA Endorsement on a Michigan Teaching Certificate OR a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a CDA Those with lesser degree will be considered based on experience and/or willingness to continue their education Prior professional experience working in a licensed child care setting Demonstrated experience working with children in a classroom setting First Aid and Adult/Child CPR certification (willingness to obtain if not already certified) Caring and nurturing attitude towards children with a desire to work with children from toddlers through school age Commitment to fostering our Catholic faith with the children Pass a background and criminal history check Virtus-Trained or willing to be trained Complete the required State of Michigan licensing requirements prior to the start of employment Must adhere to all federal, state, local, diocesan, and school policies To Apply Please complete this employment application .
