General Requirements:
Associates degree in related field. Bachelors degree preferred. Three years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Previous experience in an academic setting preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs advanced administrative assistant duties for the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Performs advanced administrative assistant duties. Provides departmental or university information to students, faculty and staff. Schedules and plans activities. Interprets policies and procedures. Assists in the building of departmental course schedule each semester. Prepares departmental electronic personnel action forms (EPAFs). Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports. Maintains multiple databases. Attends meetings and takes notes. Prepares, reviews, revises and distributes documents and correspondence. Orders and maintains supply inventory. Maintains workroom operations. Oversees departmental budgets and financial transactions. Handles P-Card purchases and monitors expenses. Performs other related duties as assigned.
